Welcome! I'm Emilia, a PhD Candidate in Economics at the University of Illinois Chicago.

During my PhD experience, I have specialized in International Development, Behavioral, and Applied Economics in my coursework and teaching. I have conducted research in South Asian, European, and African markets, driven by my authentic passion for culture and people. I have also taken select coursework in Financial Modeling and Time Series, and participated as a visiting student at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University.

Within my community, I have partnered with the Chicago non-profit Economic Awareness Council on various projects, applying my knowledge of behavior, financial literacy and poverty to improve the welfare of Chicago alternative school students.

I expect to graduate in May 2026, and am pursuing industry internship opportunities for the Summer of 2025. Feel free to browse this site for current projects and papers.
